Sabancı University campus becomes a test bed in partnership with Netaş and Temsa. The project related to testing V2X (Vehicle-to-everything communication) modules produced by Netaş for ITU 5G Release 15 5G/6G communication standardization and testing autonomous driving scenarios will be implemented on the campus of Sabancı University.
The project will also be a complement to the SU Smart Campus project, carried out within the scope of the H2020 EuroGia cluster with EnerjiSA, in terms of sustainability and integration. With the tests on the communication module to be placed on the vehicle provided by Temsa, a test bed infrastructure will be created where scenarios for autonomous driving will be tested.
In the long term, Sabancı University V2X Test Bed will be developed as a measurement, testing, and verification infrastructure on which the autonomous driving levels defined in ITU Release 15 and IoT applications can be tested, scenarios related to electric transportation can be implemented, V2X and/or communication IC and front-end tests can be performed, and scenario verifications about platform security and cyber security issues can be carried out.
The test bed structure is planned as a living structure that can be launched with the first scenarios to be determined with the participation of Netaş and Temsa, and that can be used for different research projects and projects to be defined with different partners in the long term.
Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Members Dr. Orçun Cetin and Dr. Kamer Kaya will act as researchers in the project, which will be carried out under the coordination of Sabancı University Ankara Project Office. The cloud infrastructure to be used for the test bed will be provided by SabancıDX.
