MEDIUM

y o ğ u n l u k, founded by İsmail Eğler, Nil Aynalı Eğler and Elif Tekir as an Istanbul based art initiative in 2013, arranges installations, performances and spatial organizations by focusing on the interaction between artistic activity and space. To create a fiction in the space various elements and added lighting, sound and mist are used. By choreographically moving together with the existing structural elements of the space, its potential qualities are unveiled. When added elements and/or used media forms are integrated to the space, they become a dynamic of that particular space and redefine the space’s existence while strengthening it. This is sometimes undertaken through the existing memory of the space and sometimes through a time-space regime abstracted from history or culture.
