"Kurds as the New Actor of the Middle East: Implications for Turkey"

Fuat Keyman

Abstract

In a time when tectonic stones have begun to shift, maps are likely to be redrawn, turmoil rather than stability shapes inter and intra-state affairs, and new actors are emerging, how Turkey should position and reset its foreign policy towards the Middle East in particular, and the MENA in general seems to be the key question whose answer will determine its role, place and perception in global and regional politics. This talk is an attempt to explore possible answers to this question by taking into account both domestic and international developments.
