The 4th International Staff Education Mobility Week was Held

 International Relations Office of Sabancı University successfully organized the 4th International Staff Training Week on our campus from 12–16 May 2025, within the scope of the Erasmus+ program. As with last year, this year’s event was held in collaboration with Koç University, and welcomed around 15 academic and administrative staff, primarily working in the field of internationalization, from countries such as Pakistan, Lebanon, Georgia, the United Kingdom, Morocco, and Romania.

As part of the joint program, participants from Koç University visited Sabancı University on Tuesday, 13 May, while our representatives joined the events hosted at Koç University on Thursday, 15 May.

The event opened with remarks from Vice President Prof. Cem Güneri, who shared insights into Sabancı University’s educational and research policies, as well as the activities of the International Relations Office, outlining the university’s goals within its internationalization strategy.  Throughout the week, distinguished members enriched the program with valuable sessions: Prof. İsmail Çakmak “Hidden Hunger”, Prof. Kemal Kılıç “Decision Making with Data: The Story of AI & Data Analytics from Past to Future”, Sabancı Business School Faculty Member Kerem Kılıç “How to Make Better Decisions”, Sabancı Business School Faculty Member Ozan Duygulu“Successful Sustainable Management in Business and Life” and School of Languages Instructor İlkem Kayıcan Dipcin “Fundamentals of Productive AI Tools: Practical Applications for the Digital Age”.

As part of the event, our guests had the opportunity to plant an olive tree as a meaningful memento. This symbolic activity not only left a lasting mark on our campus but also reflected our shared commitment to sustainability.

One of the most vibrant and memorable moments of the week was the “International Flavors Gathering.” Organized in collaboration with our Food & Beverage Services Unit and exchange and international students, this special culinary event was held in the university cafeteria and open to all participants.Featuring dishes from various international cuisines, the event showcased the richness of cultural diversity and promoted global understanding through food.

An important component of the week was the Study Abroad Fair, organized for our students. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to engage with international representatives and learn more about exchange programs and study abroad opportunities.

Sabancı University ranks among the top foundation universities in Türkiye in terms of Erasmus+ funding, and continues to support student mobility and international academic collaboration through the resources it receives. The program provides our academic staff with opportunities to teach or conduct research abroad, while also enabling administrative personnel to gain hands-on experience and observe best practices at partner universities around the world.
