Clean aviation and hydrogen energy info day and brokerage event were organized as part of the EEN-Istanbul project, coordinated by Sabancı University Research Development and Technology Transfer Office (SUATT) in cooperation with Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) and TÜBİTAK. The event was held on Feb. 23-24.
The event, was open to participate for experts from national and international Universities, Research Centers, Start-Ups and Scale-Ups, SMEs and large companies, Associations, Public Authorities / Governmental Organizations, that want to be informed about the subject and establish project partnerships.
More than 100 industry professionals registered for the event. The first session started with speeches of SUNUM Deputy Director of Business Development and Commercialization Mert Umut Özkaynak and Sabancı University Vice Rector Prof Dr Mehmet Yıldız.
After the presentation of TÜBİTAK Horizon Europe National Contact Point Officer Serhat Melik, the program continued with the presentations of Advantech Advisory co-founder Angel Lagraña and Silvia Calabrini, Antonio Peschiulli from GE / Avio Aero and Rasim Karslıoğlu from GE Aerospace. In the second part of the program, matchmaking session, the participants exchanged ideas about the projects through B2B meetings. Over 50 meetings already planned. Virtual matchmaking session will continue until March 4.
As part of the event, representatives of GE Aviation and GE Avio Aero, which are among Italy's leading companies in the global aviation industry, visited the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, SUNUM and SU IMC laboratories at Sabancı University.
During this visit, information was given about Sabancı University's research areas, current studies, laboratory and technical capabilities. During the visit, FENS Dean Erkay Savaş, FENS Deputy Dean Selmiye Alkan Gürsel and FENS faculty members Tuğçe Yüksel, Emre Erdem and Alp Yurum talked about their work in university laboratories. In addition, SUNUM Deputy Director of Business Development and Commercialization Mert Umut Özkaynak, SU IMC CEO Devrim Özaydın and SU Academic Director Burcu Saner Okan made presentations on their work.
