Dicle

The Dicle Koğacıoğlu Article Award has been presented since 2010 by SU Gender, with the support of Sabancı University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, in memory of our colleague and friend, sociologist Dicle Koğacıoğlu, who passed away in 2009, to support gender-focused research on Turkey and to encourage young researchers working in this field. Graduate and doctoral students, as well as researchers who have received their master's degrees within the last two years, can apply for the award.

Articles submitted for consideration for the award are evaluated anonymously by an interuniversity selection committee.

The award amount of 35,000 TL determined for 2025 will be given to an article deemed worthy of the award by the selection committee. Various academic support opportunities (such as conference and workshop participation) will be offered to article authors who do not receive an award but whose work is deemed worthy of incentive.

The application deadline is September 1, 2025. The award winners will be announced at a conference organized by SU Gender in December.
