The international conference entitled “Crafting a New EU Social Contract Together” hosted by SU Gender within the scope of the EU Horizon Europe project Express 2 Specify and Protect the EU Social Contract (EXPRESS2), of which Sabancı University is among the partners, will take place at Minerva Han on May 28-29, 2025.

Based on the idea that social contracts are living documents, the main aim of the project is to develop a new social contract that is more inclusive, democratic, and sustainable. The international conference, which will be organized within the scope of the project, will bring together academics, experts, and civil society representatives to share new perspectives on a common future. The conference will present the first findings of the research conducted within the scope of the project focusing on themes such as insecurity, populism, gender inequality, climate change, digitalization, and pandemic, and will also feature different studies conducted in academia and civil society around these themes.
Meltem Müftüler-Baç’s opening speech entitled “The European Union’s Security Environment: Strategic Partners” will take place on May 28 at 16:00.
