Purple Certificate Basic Training Took Place Online

The Purple Certificate Program carried out by the Sabancı University Gender and Women’s Studies Center for Excellence (SU Gender) for 13 years with the support of the Sabancı Foundation held online basic training on gender equality to teachers and prospective teachers with notebook computers provided to participants by Sabancı Holding.

At the Purple Certificate Online Basic Training which took place between 17-20 November 2020, 60 teachers and prospective teachers selected from 708 applications came together. The training given by Nevgül Bilsel Safkan, the Vice Chairperson of the Haci Ömer Sabancı Foundation and a member of the SU Gender Advisory Board, raised awareness regarding gender equality in many different fields from literature to science and from law to health. At the end of four days of training, teachers and prospective teachers received a certificate of participation.

As part of the Online Basic Training, Sabancı Holding aimed to eliminate inequalities in the online and distance education process with a notebook computer delivered to all participants, and also granted participating teachers and prospective teachers with the right to give out these computers to their colleagues or students.

The next Online Training within the scope of the Purple Certificate Program will be held in February 2021.
