Sabancı University has published its first Sustainability Report, bringing together its work, goals, and institutional approach in the field of sustainability. The report addresses the work carried out in the areas of education, research, campus operations, climate action, and community contribution within a holistic framework.

The report, which represents a significant milestone in the university's sustainability journey, includes Sabancı University's climate and environmental work in line with its 2050 Net Zero target, as well as its practices in the areas of energy, water, waste, biodiversity, transportation, and sustainable procurement.
The report also highlights sustainability-focused research projects, an interdisciplinary education approach, university-industry collaborations, and community impact initiatives. It emphasizes that Sabancı University considers sustainability not only as a part of campus operations but also as a shared area of transformation across the university, extending from education and research to innovation and community contribution.
Transformation in line with the 2050 Net Zero target
Sabancı University continues its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy efficiency, and expand the use of renewable energy as part of its fight against climate change. The university aims to implement short, medium, and long-term practices in line with its goal of becoming Net Zero by 2050.
Renewable energy investments, energy efficiency projects, smart building and automation applications, and efforts to reduce resource consumption carried out on campus are among the main practices included in the report.
Water, waste, and biodiversity studies stand out
The report also addresses projects carried out within the scope of efficient use of water resources, recycling practices, waste reduction, and the integration of the circular economy approach into campus life.
Sabancı University continues its work on the Zero Waste approach, recycling practices, reduction of single-use products, and improvement of resource efficiency, as well as the protection of the natural areas and biodiversity of the campus.
Sustainability in education and research
Sabancı University's interdisciplinary education model allows students to address climate change, sustainable development, and environmental problems from different perspectives.
Research conducted within the university focuses on developing solutions in many areas such as clean energy, climate policies, sustainable finance, circular economy, food security, water management, and low-carbon technologies.
