Sabancı University Tuzla Campus, which has the largest sakura population in Turkey, hosted its second Sakura Event. Thousands of students and many distinguished guests from the business and academic worlds attended the “Make a Promise for the Future” Sakura Event held on April 12. The resources created with the event were allocated to support young people in need of financial support as part of the “Make a Promise for the Future” scholarship program this year.

Sabancı University held the second Sakura Event, which was organized last year as a dedication to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of Turkish-Japanese relations, on April 12.

The “Make a Promise for the Future” Sakura Event on Tuzla Campus, which has the largest sakura tree population in Turkey, was very lively this year as well. The event, which was decorated with sakura trees, symbolizing rebirth in Japanese culture, provided support to successful students in need of financial assistance studying at Sabancı University, within the scope of the “Make a Promise for the Future Scholarship Program”, with the resources generated.

After the event, Fazıl Say presented an unforgettable musical feast
On the Tuzla Campus, where there are nearly 2,000 sakura trees, guests were treated to enjoyable moments with manga, sailing knots, sumi-e (Japanese painting), sushi, perfume/essence, and shodo (Japanese calligraphy) workshops, as well as car test drives and various games. The event, which included food and beverages, and sales and promotion stands, also featured a gift raffle. The DJ performance accompanying the daytime program of the event was followed by Hey Douglas, Bir Adım Var Foundation, and Koto concerts. After a full day, world-famous composer and pianist Fazıl Say presented guests with an unforgettable musical feast at the gala concert held at the Sabancı Performing Arts Center.
