The Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards will be awarded on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
The award program, which was established according to the will of the late Sakıp Sabancı, Honorary Chair of the Board of Trustees of Sabancı University, has been organized for 20 years in order to encourage respected research in the field of social sciences in Turkey and to produce distinguished research examples that will arouse intellectual curiosity about Turkey in the world. Since 2015, the tradition of commemorating Sakıp Sabancı with original works produced in the field of social sciences has been combined with the award ceremony, bringing the event under one roof.
In addition to the article awards, since 2012, a person who has made significant contributions throughout their life to the fields of social sciences that the late Sakıp Sabancı indicated in his will has been awarded the “Jury Special Award”.
The Sakıp Sabancı International Research Award, a first in Turkey, has pioneered and illuminated Turkish research in various social science disciplines such as sociology, economics, history, and political science for the past 20 years. The award has received over 600 applications from 40 countries since 2006.
