Established to honor the legacy of the late Sakıp Sabancı, the Honorary Chairman of Sabancı University, the 7th “Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards” will be presented at a ceremony hosted by Board of Trustees Chair Güler Sabancı and President A. Nihat Berker at the Seed, Sakıp Sabancı Museum, on Friday, June 8.

Under an overarching theme of “Turkish and Islamic Art” and the “History, Economy and Sociology of Turkey”, this year’s awards are given under the title “Performance of the Turkish Economy During Global Crises.”
İzak Atiyas, Sabancı University Faculty Member and Director of the TÜSİAD-Sabancı University Competition Forum, will address the audience on behalf of the international jury panel. A special award will be announced this year for the first time: “Sakıp Sabancı Islamic Art and Culture Jury Special Prize”. This award will be announced by the Director of Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Nazan Ölçer. The ceremony will be hosted by actor Meltem Cumbul.
