Sabancı University faculty member, Assist. Prof. Dr. Yoong Wah Alex Wong and FASS/VAVCD students, Ali Özgün Akyüz and Ayşe Beraa Özcan attended the Shanghai International Photo Festival (8-23 November 2024) and Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair (7-11 November 2024).
Their photographic works “Two Cities," showcased at FASS Art Gallery in July 2024, were exhibited at the Shanghai International Photo Festival. Assist. Prof. Dr. Alex Wong gave two talks in the festival's main conference hall. Later he attended the photography workshop organized by the Shanghai Photographic Society.
Together they also visited Shanghai University (The Fine Arts College) and received a warm welcome from Prof Ao Guoxing and the students. Later, they met with different professors and got a glimpse of the Shanghai University facilities, studios, ongoing workshops and exhibitions in the various buildings on the west and north campuses.
We hope to continue such dynamic exchanges and collaboration between Sabancı University and Shanghai University. Currently, there is an ongoing bilateral agreement between the two universities.
