TÜSEB Support for the Sabancı University Team

The Sabancı University team's project proposal, entitled "Optimization and Preclinical Evaluation of a Hydrodynamic Cavitation-Assisted Thrombolysis Device," submitted under the TÜSEB-AR-GE-01 funding call, has been evaluated and selected for funding as it was found to be fully aligned with the objectives and priorities of the TÜSEB program.

 

 

The project aims to validate and optimize a hydrodynamic cavitation-assisted catheter-directed thrombolysis (CA-CDT) device through in vivo preclinical animal studies. The study will investigate the effects of focused cavitation flows generated within an intravascular PEEK-based catheter system on in vivo thrombus dissolution efficacy and procedural safety.

The project is led by the Sabancı University team consisting of Ali Koşar and Morteza Ghorbani (FENS, SUNUM, and EFSUN), Gül Kozalak (FENS and EFSUN), Özlem Kutlu (SUNUM), and Süheyla Türkyılmaz (SUATT). The project also includes researchers from İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Ondokuz Mayıs University, and Taiga Biotechnology. The project represents an excellent example of the close collaboration between SUNUM and EFSUN, bringing together complementary expertise to advance innovative biomedical technologies.
