Winners of the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, the first international award program in Turkey in the field of social sciences, organized by our university, will be announced in an online ceremony on Monday, April 10, 2023. The awards are organized for the 18th time this year, following the will of Sabancı University Honorary President Sakıp Sabancı.
The theme for the 2023 edition of the annual Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, the first and only international award program in Turkey in the field of social sciences, organized annually by our university, is “The 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye: Republicanism in Theory and Application”.
Sabancı University Honorary President Sakıp Sabancı, who passed away on April 10, 2004, will be remembered for his ideas and values at the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards. Considering this year is the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, original studies on the concepts of the Republic and Republicanism and a scientist who made the most important contribution to the theme of the year in the international arena will be awarded.
Organized for 18 years, the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards evaluate the original studies on the subjects of Turkish and Islamic Art, history, economy and sociology of Turkey every year. To date, more than 500 applications have been received from 35 countries around the world for the award program, which is carried out under the leadership of Sabancı University Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Istanbul Policy Center.
