INTERDISCIPLINARY ASPECTS OF ACCOUNTING RESEARCH

 

 

International Accounting Conference of the Accounting Academicians’ Research and Collaboration Foundation (AARCF) is held annually and the hosting institution rotates between various Turkish Universities. The host of the 2014 Conference is Sabanci University, a modern private university located on the Asian side of Istanbul.

The theme for the 2014 Conference is “Interdisciplinary Aspects of Accounting Research”. Interdisciplinary accounting research has received a major boost in recent years. The Conference aims to bring together accounting researchers with broad social science interests and to raise issues regarding the way accounting affects, and is affected by social, political and economic environments and other disciplines.

The Conference is dedicated to the advancement of accounting theory and practice. It provides a platform to discuss the interaction between accounting and other disciplines. Contemporary research directions in accounting show a trend toward convergence of different and complementary approaches, seeking synergy among different research methods and disciplines. Accounting research can benefit from integration with advances in economic, organizational, and social theories. The Conference sessions and papers will critique contemporary theory and practice, examine historical and interdisciplinary dimensions of accounting research, debate policy alternatives, and explore new perspectives and changes in the field. Included in the program are plenary and concurrent sessions and research paper presentations on selected themes and issues, enhanced by keynote speakers.

Accounting Academicians’ Research and Collaboration Foundation (AARCF), whose foundation has been enrolled and announced officially as of November 13, 1995; represents all of the accounting academicians who work in the universities in Turkey and it is a foundation based on volunteerism serving the purposes of raising the accounting scientists in the best way, improving the science of accounting and also scientific discussion environments,  contributing to the enhancement of the levels of accounting education and research and finally strengthening the cooperation between the accounting scientists.  See more at: http://modav.org.tr
