At the FDP–VIU Scholars 2026 ceremony held on Monday, April 6, our first group of scholarship students selected under the Sabancı University & Venice International University Core Curriculum Excellence Program came together with the university administration and instructors.

The ceremony was attended by our Rector, Yusuf Leblebici; Vice Rector for Education, Cem Güneri; Deans, Erkay Savaş and Ayşegül Toker; Foundations Development Director, Emre Erol; instructors, Aslıhan Muazzez Ünsal, Matteo Paganin, Melike Ayşe Kocacık Şenol; and Zeynep Ezgi Erdem from the International Relations Office.

This program holds particular significance for Sabancı University as part of the prestigious structure of Venice International University. Sabancı University is the only member of this consortium in Türkiye. The first group of students selected for FDP–VIU Scholars 2026 was admitted to the program on the basis of their outstanding achievement in NS 101, NS 102, SPS 101, SPS 102, MATH 101, and MATH 102, all of which are coordinated by the Foundations Development Directorate.

Throughout the event, the students introduced themselves, shared their academic interests and future plans, and also had the opportunity to ask questions to our instructors. In this respect, the ceremony went beyond being a simple introductory gathering and created a warm and friendly atmosphere of conversation among the students, the university administration, and the instructors. In this way, the event became a meaningful gathering that made the students’ efforts and achievements in the core curriculum visible.
