Prof. Hugues de Thé to Come to Istanbul for Targeted Cancer Therapies Conference

Prof. Hugues de Thé, a world-renowned scientist known for his groundbreaking work in cancer research, will give a conference at the Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum. The conference, titled “Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia, a Paradigm for Cure by Targeted Therapies,” will take place on Wednesday, April 1st, at 10:30 AM at the Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum.

Currently serving as a Professor of Cellular and Molecular Oncology at the Collège de France, Prof. Hugues de Thé has contributed to revolutionary developments in the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia, a rare type of leukemia, through his research at the intersection of biology and medicine. These studies have enabled significant progress in the development of targeted cancer therapies. 

Prof. de Thé has gained great international respect for his scientific achievements. He has been awarded the European Research Council Advanced Grant three times. He is also a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), the French National Academy of Sciences, and the National Academy of Medicine (United States), and is the recipient of the prestigious Sjöberg Prize awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. 

Organized in collaboration with the French Embassy in Türkiye, the Institut Français de Turquie, the Collège de France, Sabancı University, and AXA Insurance, the conference will be an important meeting point for academics, students, and researchers interested in cancer research, targeted therapies, and translational medicine.
