The Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards 2026 Special Jury Prize Panel, featuring Peter Katzenstein, recipient of the Sakıp Sabancı Research Awards Special Jury Prize, will be held on Wednesday, April 8th at 10:30 AM in the Cinema Hall of Sabancı University's Tuzla Campus.
This year, Peter Katzenstein, a leading figure in the field of international relations, was awarded the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards Special Jury Prize. Katzenstein will begin the panel with a presentation titled "Planetary Realities: Entanglement, Power, Risk, and Uncertainty in International Politics," focusing on themes such as risk and uncertainty, the role of context, process, and language in small and large worlds, post-Newtonian approaches, para-humanism, and uncertainty. In his presentation, he will address the concepts of uncertainty, power, and entanglement in global politics within the framework of his latest book, Entanglements in World Politics: The Power of Uncertainty.
Following this, a panel discussion will be held with the participation of FASS Faculty Member Mert Moral, IPC Director Senem Aydın-Düzgit, IPC Senior Scholar and City University of London, Department of International Politics Faculty Member Mustafa Kutlay. The program will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
The theme of the 2026 Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, “Planetary Realities: Rethinking Governance beyond Borders,” also guides the content of the event. The panel aims to rethink cross-border governance discussions while offering an interdisciplinary perspective on the complex and multifaceted nature of global politics.
