10th Dali International Photography Exhibition

In the 10th Dali International Photography Exhibition from 31st August - 5th September 2023, Yunnan, China. FASS/VAVCD faculty member, Asst. Prof. Dr Yoong Wah Alex Wong, curated various exhibitions. It is a continued effort and collaboration from the previous edition of the large-scale visual display.

This year, 4 students + 2 alumnae (Hilal Işık, Ezgi Temür, Doğa Batılı, Uliana Tikhomirova, Belmin Pilevneli and Ilgın Harput) from Sabancı University/FASS/VAVCD program works were selected and showcased together with other notable art and design university faculty members’ and students’ projects.

Together we create and share: Selection and contribution of works are possible with esteemed colleagues in the field, special thanks and warm appreciation to faculty members, Prof. Karolina Aszyk (University of Gdansk), Assoc Prof. Oh Soonhwa and Ang Song Nian (NTU, Singapore), Eiffel Chong and Tan Tay Guan (TAR University, Malaysia), Ampannee Satoh and Ugrid Jomyim (Rangsit University, Thailand), and Laleper Aytek (Koç University). We are delighted to include participants’ artistic works with different themes and creative visuals in this influential international exhibition.

At the same time, FASS/VAVCD faculty member, Alex Wong served as the recommending committee member for the 3rd Asia Pioneer Photographer Foundation (APPF). He recommended Neslihan Koyuncu, Murat Durusoy and Canan Erbil’s artistic projects to be considered for the award. After a tough choice of consideration and selection process, the chief jury, Mr. Xie Zilong, Vice President of the China Photographers Association and owner of the Xie Zilong Image Art Museum, announced Canan Erbil’s project titled I Stand Alone, received the 3rd Asia Pioneer Photographer Foundation Nominee of the Year Award, 2023”.
