At AI.SU artificial Intelligence is Not Just a Matter of Technology

The AI.SU podcast/videocast series, which premiered on April 30th, began with its first conversation with Sabancı University President Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici on the technological infrastructure, energy needs, and critical questions about the future of artificial intelligence. In subsequent episodes of the series, prominent figures in their fields, such as Microsoft Corporate Vice President and AI Frontiers Lab Managing Director Dr. Ece Kamar, theoretical astrophysicist Prof. Dr. Avi Loeb from Harvard University, and artist-academic Prof. Dr. Selçuk Artut, discussed how artificial intelligence is transforming our ways of thinking, questioning, and creating.

Will AI kill creativity?

In the episode with Prof. Dr. Selçuk Artut, the relationship between artificial intelligence and art, academia, and creativity was examined. This conversation, which was the focus of AI.SU's second meeting, revealed that artificial intelligence should be discussed not only as a scientific and technological field, but also as an area of artistic and cultural transformation. It was suggested that artificial intelligence could be a powerful mirror reflecting humanity, rather than a creator replacing humans; the new creative fields arising from the collaboration of humans and artificial intelligence, the transformation in creative processes, and how art can open up a new space for thought in this new era were evaluated.

The AI.SU platform will continue to discuss the issue of remaining human in the age of artificial intelligence with different voices, questions, and perspectives through new episodes and meetings to be published in the coming period.
