Ayşe Nilay Seyhan, who is working in the research group of Dr. Duygu Kuzuoğlu Öztürk, a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University, has been accepted to the TRANSLACORE COST Action 21154 Training School on Bioinformatics program, which will be held at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, from August 24 to 26, 2026. Ayşe Nilay Seyhan is among the 10 students who qualified to participate in the program with scholarship support.

Training in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics
The training program, organized under TRANSLACORE COST Action 21154, provides an introduction to the use of bioinformatics and biostatistics methods in the analysis of mRNA translation across the transcriptome. The program will include studies on the interpretation of polysome sequencing and ribosome profiling (Ribo-seq) data.
The program, which will bring together 10 scientists from different countries, will offer an international working environment for knowledge sharing, the development of new skills, and the support of scientific collaborations.
Working on the Molecular Mechanisms of Prostate Cancer
Ayşe Nilay Seyhan is working in Dr. Duygu Kuzuoğlu Öztürk's research group on the translational regulation of androgen receptor mRNA in prostate cancer and its castration-resistant form. The research aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying this translational regulation and ultimately to identify new therapeutic strategies targeting these mechanisms for the treatment of prostate cancer.
Ayşe Nilay Seyhan, who defended her master's thesis on June 24, 2026, will continue her studies as a doctoral student in Dr. Duygu Kuzuoğlu Öztürk's research group starting in September.
