Organized by the Sabancı University Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Inspiring Leaders Conference will be held on September 20 this year.
As part of the conference, to be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 18:00 at the Seed, Sakıp Sabancı Museum, Deputy President and Provost of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and Sabancı University International Board of Overseers Member Prof. Ling San will give a speech entitled "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Education".
About Prof. Ling San
Ling San is Deputy President and Provost at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. After 13 years at the National University of Singapore, he joined NTU Singapore in 2005 as Founding Head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS). He previously served as Chair of SPMS and Dean of the College of Science at NTU Singapore, before being appointed Provost in January 2018. Between August 2022 and July 2024, he also served concurrently as Chief Scientific Advisor of the National Research Foundation of Singapore.
Ling San is also a member of the Committee of Government Scientific Advisors to the Government of Singapore. He completed his undergraduate and master's degrees in Mathematics at Cambridge University and his doctorate in Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley.
He was also a visiting professor at UC Berkeley, INRIA, ENS Lyon, Macquarie, Technion, and Hanyang University. His research interests include the application of algebra and number theory to combinatorial designs, coding theory, cryptography, and arrays.
