Memorandum of Understanding is signed with Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Ceramics Institute

Sabancı University and Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Ceramics Institute (SICCAS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement aims to support cooperation between Sabancı University Faculty Members and Shanghai Ceramic Institute (SICCAS) researchers in the field of materials sciences. Researchers will develop projects for joint calls to be opened by TÜBİTAK and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021.

In this context, Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences faculty members Prof. Dr. Bahattin Koç, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Erdem and Prof. Dr. Selmiye Alkan Gürsel continues their research to develop joint projects with researchers from Shanghai Ceramic Institute. Under the coordination of Ayça Arığ from Sabancı University Ankara Project Office, our researchers started collaborations. Prof. Dr. Koç and Prof. Dr. Wu on "Bioprinting for tendon-cartilage tissue interface", Prof. Dr. Gürsel and Prof. Dr. Li on “Electrodes for lithium ion & sodium ion batteries and electrolytes for solid state batteries” and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Erdem and Prof. Dr. Li has decided to collaborate on “Metal ion doped metal oxide applications on all-solid batteries and supercapacitators”. All three projects are expected to be funded through joint calls by TÜBİTAK and the Chinese Academy of Sciences to be announced in 2021.
