“Learning how to learn is the most critical skill of the future”

In the episode, where Dr. Ece Kamar described artificial intelligence as “a mirror held up to humanity,” the discussion focused on how this technology can reflect back to the world the biases it learns from us. Alongside the human-centered approach to artificial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and ethical questions, the importance of ensuring the fair inclusion of women and minority groups in this transformation was examined from multiple perspectives.

In the conversation, which also shared the inspiring journey of Dr. Ece Kamar, an alumna of Sabancı University, from her first programming course during her university years to the leadership ranks of Microsoft, it was emphasized that the most critical skill in the face of rapid change is “learning how to learn.” The discussion also highlighted the dynamics women pursuing careers in technology may encounter, as well as the importance of diversity in ensuring that systems operate in a fair and equitable manner, as key themes of the episode.
