Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) held meetings in Madrid on October 18 and 19.

On October 18, the roundtable EU-Turkey Relations in Times of Global and Regional Turmoil organized jointly by Istanbul Policy Center-Sabancı University-Stiftung Mercator Initiative and Elcano Royal Institute was held at the Elcano Royal Institute. 

We remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, on the 80th anniversary of his passing.

The animated film "The Loop" made by Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences member Alex Wong and a team of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design students won the “18th Kısa-Ca International Student Films Festival - Best Animated Film" Award.

A team led by Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences member Berrin Yanıkoğlu developed a Turkish handwriting recognition system to be used as part of the "Development and Application of Handwriting Recognition Technologies for Use in Intelligent Classrooms" project. 

FASS Art Gallery is hosting a Chinese photographer and curator Bao Lihui with his exhibition entitled Far Away Cloud. The exhibition can be visited between 23 November and 14 December 2018.

Yusuf Leblebici becomes the new President of Sabancı University

The handover ceremony for the Presidency of Sabancı University was hosted by Sabancı University Founding Board of Trustees Chair Güler Sabancı at the campus in Tuzla.

A research team led by Sabancı University faculty member Professor Emrah Kalemci observed a black hole system named MAXI J1820+070 simultaneously with the European Space Agency (ESA) gamma-ray satellite INTEGRAL, NASA X-ray satellite SWIFT, and Tübitak National Observatory telescopes.
