Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) will host Prof. Dr. Ayşe Zarakol, a prominent scholar in the field of international relations.
Prof. Dr. Ayşe Zarakol, Professor of International Relations at the University of Cambridge’s Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) and Adjunct Faculty Member at Sabancı University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), will speak at Minerva Han on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Her talk is titled "World Politics in the 21st Century in the Shadow of Artificial Intelligence."
At the event, to be held from 11:00 to 12:30 in the Prof. Dr. Fuat Keyman Meeting Hall at Minerva Han, Zarakol will address the transformation of world politics and key debates regarding its future in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
Significant International Academic Achievements
Working at the intersection of historical sociology and international relations, Prof. Dr. Ayşe Zarakol conducts research on East-West relations within the international system, the history and future of world orders, modernity and sovereignty, rising and declining powers, and comparative Turkish politics.
In recognition of her academic work in the international arena, Zarakol was awarded the Koç University Rahmi M. Koç Science Medal in 2023. In 2024, she was elected a Fellow of the Academia Europaea and the British Academy.
