Stories of The Northeast
This magical black land in the Northeast of China has given birth to rich and diverse cultures. Whether it is the industrial culture of the golden machine age represented by coal, steel, and steam engines, or the rural culture of farming represented by the Yangko stilts and rural fairs, they coexist and blend well with each other, nourishing generations of Northeastern people, and shaping their perseverance. I was born and raised in the Northeast of China, and I have always paid attention to and photographed the people and cultural development in this land. This includes the rise and fall of the old industries, the inheritance and the development of stilt Yangko in western Liaoning, the process of rural urbanization, and the resonance and synchronous development of ordinary folks in this era. I hope that with the growth and experience, I gain in my homeland through recording the images objectively, I can put the simplest emotions into each photo, whether it is joy, confusion, bitterness, or hope, and string them together into stories belonging to the past, present and future. Exploring and finding a personalized interpretation that echoes the times - this is my "Stories of The Northeast".
