SUNUM, İTÜ and TEMSA will develop a technology to extend battery life

A project to enhance supercapacitor technology to upgrade battery performance in hybrid and diesel vehicles under the partnership of Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM,) Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) and TEMSA Skoda is entitled to support under TÜBİTAK 1702 Patent-Based Technology Transfer Support Program.

The project entitled “Use of High-Performance Supercapacitors with Mesostructured Gel Electrolytes in Automotive Applications” is entitled to support under the TÜBİTAK 1702 Patent-Based Technology Transfer Support Program (1702 Patent License 2021-2). With the TÜBİTAK 1702 support, Supercapacitor technology will be developed to upgrade battery performance in hybrid and diesel vehicles.

The project team is composed of Dr. Yurdanur Türker, full-time researcher at SUNUM, Dr. Koray Bahadır Dönmez, technical specialist at SUNUM, Prof. Dr. Seniha Güner, faculty member at İTÜ and part-time researcher at SUNUM, Prof. Dr. Nilgün Karatepe Yavuz, faculty member at İTÜ, and Mert Umut Özkaynak, PhD Student at İTÜ and Dep. Director, Responsible for Strategy and Business Development at SUNUM.
