TÜBİTAK 1001 Support for the Projects of Our Faculty Members

Within the scope of TÜBİTAK's 1001 Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program 2024 1st Term Call and the 100th Anniversary of our Republic Special Call, 9 projects from Sabancı University have become entitled to support.

Within the scope of the program, projects that comply with scientific principles are supported to produce new information, make scientific interpretations or solve technological problems. It is planned to support 2 undergraduate, 8 master's, and 6 doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, with a total budget of approximately 13.7 million TL for the 9 supported projects.

Our projects that received TÜBİTAK 1001 support in the first term of 2024:

From the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences:

• The project entitled "Powers of Binary Ideals Emerging from Combinatorics", led by Faculty Member Ayesha Asloob Qureshi

• The project entitled "Qualitative Analysis of Novikov Type Equations and Outlier Spherical Surface Solutions", led by Faculty Member Nilay Duruk Mutlubaş

• The project entitled "Modeling the Molecular Mechanism of Excretion Pumps in the Problem of Antibiotic Resistance", led by Faculty Member Canan Atılgan

• The project entitled "100 Years of the Warburg Effect: Investigation of the Equilibrium Dynamics of Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation in Chemoreresistant Tumors Using Biosensors", led by Faculty Member Alex Lyakhovich

• The project entitled "Investigation of the Physical Properties of Infrared Galaxies Detected in the eROSITA Whole Space Survey", led by Postdoctoral Researcher Ece Kilerci, and in which Faculty Member Ersin Göğüş is the researcher

• The project entitled "Global Barrier Method and Double Tangent Counting Problem in Random Algebraic Geometry", led by METU Faculty Member Ali Ulaş Özgür Kişisel, and in which Faculty Member Turgay Bayraktar is the researcher

• The project entitled "Establishment and Functional Characterization of Liver Tissue Zonation in the Liver-On-Chip Organoid Model", led by Prof. Dr. Şerife Erdal Bağrıyanık from Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center, and in which Faculty Member Ali Koşar is the advisor

From the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences:

• The project entitled "The Intersection of Culture, Language and Memory: Intercultural Examination of Complex Interaction in Young and Old Adults", led by Faculty Member Junko Kanero, and in which Faculty Member Çağla Aydın is the researcher.

• The project entitled "The Effects of Household and Company Loans on Labor Force Productivity", led by Faculty Member İnci Gümüş, and in which BAU Faculty Member Emine Zeren Tatar Taşpınar is the researcher.

• The project entitled "Inflation Expectations and Pricing Behaviors of Companies", led by Faculty Member Emrehan Aktuğ, and in which SBS Faculty Member Orhan Erem Ateşağaoğlu is the researcher

• The project entitled "Structuring and Impact Research of the Home Visit-Based Early Childhood Development Program for Dissemination", led by Faculty Member Feyza Çorapçı, and in which Assoc. Prof. Birsen Mutlu from IU is a researcher, Dr. Nihal Yeniad Malkamak from BU is a researcher, Assoc. Prof. Zeynep Hande Sart from BU is a researcher, Assoc. Prof. Bengü Börkan from BU is a researcher, and Dr. Görsev Argın Uz from the Union of Local Administrations Istanbul Marmara Municipalities is the consultant

• The project entitled "The Effect of Hosting Refugees on Households' Consumption Expenditures, Socioeconomic Situations, Income and Wealth", led by AYBU Faculty Member Abdullah Türgil, and in which Faculty Member Abdurrahman Bekir Aydemir is the advisor

• The project entitled "The Effect of Regional Growth on Multidimensional Poverty in Turkey: A Spatial Econometric Analysis", led by MEF University Faculty Member Burhan Can Karahasan, and in which Faculty Member Alpay Filiztekin is the advisor

Within the scope of TÜBİTAK's 1001 program, the project entitled "Title Deed and Passport: Changing Ownership, Mobility and Urban Agreement in the Light of Residence and Citizenship through Investment Practices", led by Faculty Member Aslı İkizoğlu Erensü from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and in which BU Faculty Member Sinan Erensü is a researcher, Research Assistant Ahmet Suvar Aslan from MKU is a researcher, and Faculty Member Evren Balta Paker from Özyeğin University is the consultant, has been granted the right to expedited review without waiting for the next call period.
