Sabancı University's International Relations Office has signed exchange agreements with two leading universities in Asia, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong) and University of Macau (Macau), having agreements with all five universities in Hong Kong that are ranked in the top 100 in World Rankings.
Hong Kong, which hosts some of Asia's most prestigious universities, not only conducts superior academic research across a wide range of fields but also offers impressive campuses and social programs, making it one of the most preferred countries for Sabancı University students for exchange programs. Since the majority of the student and academic staff are international, most courses are taught in English. Studying in Hong Kong also provides an excellent opportunity to learn Chinese. Hong Kong's leading higher education institutions have strong ties with the business world, which ensures high employment rates for their graduates. As a bridge between China and the world, both financially and culturally, the city offers numerous job opportunities.
Ranked 53rd in THE World Rankings, The Chinese University of Hong Kong is known as a globally leading research university. It pioneers in the treatment of cancer and metabolic diseases and has revolutionized data transmission with its network coding theory. The university aims to create significant changes in Hong Kong's selected research areas.
The University of Macau, restructured in 1991, has risen to the top 200 in THE World Rankings. All its programs are taught in English, and it ranks in the top 150 in engineering according to THE Rankings. We expect Macau, newly added to Sabancı University's exchange network, to attract significant interest like Hong Kong.
Located on a peninsula on the Pearl River, opposite Hong Kong, Macau is a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China, reflecting a blend of Asian and European cultures on the shores of the South China Sea. This port city, with its long and unique history, offers a vibrant city life and a unique culinary culture resulting from the fusion of Portuguese and Chinese cultural elements. With an economy based on tourism, Macau also offers international opportunities, making it one of the richest places in the world with a high quality of life.
