TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal was the new guest of the "Dean's Speaker Series" event held regularly by Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
Hasan Mandal, who came together with academics, gave detailed information about TÜBİTAK's research funds and support programs for academics in his presentation. Faculty members, researchers, Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) and Composite Technologies Center of Excellence (KTMM) members attended the event.
The opening speech of the seminar, which took place in the Cinema Hall at Sabancı University Tuzla Campus, was made by Erkay Savaş, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. Stating that he was happy to host Hasan Mandal at the university, Erkay Savaş said, “TÜBİTAK is one of the important partners of Sabancı University. We have important projects supported by TÜBİTAK. Therefore, we are in very close cooperation with TÜBİTAK”.
TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal shared many topics, from TÜBİTAK's support programs to future targets, to the academic and researcher staff at Sabancı University in a seminar entitled "Co-Creation Based Collaboration for Addressing Global Challenges". The seminar also included discussions on what could be done to increase participation in TÜBİTAK programs.
In his presentation, Hasan Mandal touched upon the importance of developing urgent solutions to the global climate crisis and the accompanying challenges, and the need to work together in this context.
TÜBİTAK President Hasan Mandal emphasized that the work carried out in the priority areas determined for the goals of the Twelfth Development Plan, especially green and digital transformation, is critical to create a more sustainable future.
Hasan Mandal also gave information about the work of High Technology and SAYEM platforms, touching upon the importance of the role that Sabancı University has undertaken in this context, and underlined that platform-based collaborations strengthened by university-industry-public collaborations will increase further in the future.
