M.ERA-NET Support for Our Faculty Member Gözde İnce's Project

Gözde İnce
The "SMARTSENS - Advanced Materials for Sustainable Nucleic Acid Biosensor" project, led by Prof. Dr. Gözde İnce, a faculty member at Sabancı University's Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, has been awarded funding under the M.ERA-NET 2025 call for proposals. The project aims to develop innovative and sustainable biosensor technologies for cancer diagnosis.

The SmartSens project, which will be conducted at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences for 36 months, aims to develop an innovative screen-printed biosensor system capable of detecting cancer-related genetic changes in blood samples within the scope of liquid biopsy, using innovative materials with reduced environmental impact. To this end, the project aims to validate innovative materials at the TRL 2 level for printed electronics and biosensor applications by upgrading them to the TRL 4 level.

The project will be coordinated by the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT, Austria), and the consortium also includes Attophotonics Biosciences (ATTO, Austria), Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute (MMCI, Czech Republic), University of Turku (UT, Finland), and Lukasiewicz (LIT, Poland) as partners. The total consortium budget is €1,303,000, with Sabancı University's budget supported by TÜBİTAK.
