Organized in collaboration with Sabancı Business School and the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA), the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management (JPSM) Paper Development Workshop was held on February 10, 2025, with the participation of approximately 35 researchers and doctoral students from different universities in Turkey.

Taking the floor first at the event, Sabancı Business School Member Melek Akın Ateş talked about the importance of the event and the benefits it will provide to researchers, and invited Ayşegül Toker, the Dean of Sabancı Business School, to stage for her opening speech.

Ayşegül Toker emphasized that our university is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and said, “The number of graduate programs we have emphasizes the importance we give to research. We aim to create an academic environment that integrates effective teaching, meaningful social participation, and, of course, innovative research.” Following Ayşegül Toker, the workshop continued with introductions by IPSERA President Leonardo Marques and JPSM Editor Carmela Di Mauro.

In the first part of the workshop, Carmela Di Mauro informed the participants about paper writing in top-tier journals and the refereeing process. The session ended with Leonardo Marques’ interactive exercise on “How to Write a Good Introduction.” JPSM Editor Steven Carnovale joined the first session of the program online in the afternoon and talked about advanced practices and current issues in paper writing. In the final part of the workshop, participants were divided into two groups and received feedback on their papers from JPSM editors Carmela Di Mauro and Steven Carnovale, and associate editors Leonardo Marques and Melek Akın Ateş.
