The opening ceremony and first lesson of the third term of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program, organized in collaboration with SOCAR Turkey and Sabancı University Executive Development Unit (EDU), took place in Aliağa, where SOCAR Turkey's production facilities are located.
This prestigious program, organized by SOCAR Turkey, Turkey's largest integrated industrial group, in collaboration with Sabancı University Executive Development Unit (EDU), began with the opening ceremony held on November 30. The event, which included 72 participants admitted to the program this year, began with speeches by SOCAR Turkey CEO Elchin Ibadov, SOCAR Turkey Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit President and Petkim General Manager Kanan Mirzayev, and Sabancı University President Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici.
Following the opening, participants had the opportunity to learn about production processes during a field trip organized at SOCAR Turkey Refinery and Petrochemicals facilities.
In his opening speech, SOCAR Turkey CEO Elchin Ibadov said, “We are proud to start the third term of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program, which we aim to be sustainable and permanent. I believe that the participants selected from the intensive applications will gain a broad perspective in the energy sector and add value to both themselves and the sector.”
Sabancı University President Prof. Dr. Yusuf Leblebici said, “At Sabancı University, the breakthroughs we have made in the field of energy make us proud. We work in many disciplines from energy technologies to energy security. It is pleasing to see the effective results of this program we started with SOCAR Turkey. As we start the third term of SOCAR Energy School, we are pleased to offer our participants a comprehensive and up-to-date training program.”
In the third term of SOCAR Energy School, after the first course has been held face-to-face, the training sessions will continue on the online platform and will end on February 10, 2025. Within the scope of the program, global and regional energy issues, the energy strategies of Turkey and Azerbaijan, new trends in energy, and the topics discussed at the United Nations Climate Summit COP29 will be examined in detail.
