Sabancı University's Master of Action Research and Transformation (mART) 2024-2025 Academic Year kicked off with an inaugural lecture by world-renowned strategy and organization theorist Professor Charles C. Snow. Professor Oğuz Babüroğlu, the program director, and Professor Selen Kars Ünlüoğlu from UWE Bristol attended the lecture with the mART class of 17 senior executives from 16 different leading businesses in Turkey.
Professor Snow discussed one of the biggest design challenges that many global companies are currently facing: the transformation from hierarchical to self-organizing structures. Snow emphasized how this shift is revolutionizing the business world and how organizations can become stronger in flexibility, speed and adaptability. “Many organizations face great challenges in the process of breaking away from traditional hierarchy, but this transition is an important step organizations are taking towards innovation and sustainability,” he said.
