Our President Yusuf Leblebici has been invited to attend the 2024 International Conference on Synthesis, Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Methods, and Applications to Circuit Design organized by the University of Thessaly, one of the largest universities in Greece, as keynote speaker. He delivered the opening speech of the conference, entitled "Designing Some of the Most Influential Hardware in Human History: Our Collective Responsibilities".
In his speech, Yusuf Leblebici elaborated on the impact of digital technologies, which have been developing at an increasingly rapid pace, especially in the last 50 years, on human life and social relations, and emphasized the importance of the revolutionary changes expected to occur with big data, artificial intelligence technologies, and quantum computing (QC). Underlining that the expert people working in this field and developing these technologies should always factor in the social dimensions of the technological breakthroughs they are developing, Leblebici emphasized that it will be inevitable to reach an important crossroad in the development trajectory of humanity in the next few years.
The University of Thessaly, which organized the conference, is a comprehensive state university that was founded in 1984 and has campuses in 5 different cities of Greece. Having nearly 18,000 students, the university provides education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in its 8 faculties.
