One of Sakıp Sabancı Museum’s summer events, Soirée at the Museum, will host cinema lovers again between June 17 and 22, 2025. Organized with the contributions of the Sabancı Foundation and in cooperation with Başka Sinema, open-air film screenings will add cinema pleasure to summer evenings at Fıstıklı Terrace overlooking the Bosphorus.

This year, the selection prepared with the theme of “Other Forms, Familiar Situations” aims to establish strong bonds with the audience by bringing together different narrative forms of cinema with familiar emotions.

The program, which will start with short films that won awards in the Sabancı Foundation’s Short Film Competition and focus on social issues, will continue with the Soirée at the Museum selection.

On Tuesday, June 17, the Soirée at the Museum will feature the world premiere of Post Truth, the first feature-length documentary produced with artificial intelligence. Directed by Alkan Avcıoğlu, the film will confront the audience with the distorted reality of the information age.

On Wednesday, June 18, Better Man, which tells the life of famous pop star Robbie Williams, will be shown for the first time in Turkey as part of the Soirée at the Museum. Directed by Michael Gracey, the film tells Williams’ journey from his childhood to his Take That years and his solo career, accompanied by music.

On Thursday, June 19, Ölü Mevsim, directed by Doğuş Algün, will be screened. Starring Funda Eryiğit and Ece Yaşar, the film focuses on the lives of two sisters who are trapped in a conservative neighborhood after a personal loss. The screening will be held with the participation of the film crew.

On Friday, June 20, The Gold Rush, directed by Charlie Chaplin, one of the most iconic figures in cinema history, will be shown with its pre-100th anniversary screening. This classic, considered one of the most powerful examples of silent cinema, will offer cinema lovers a nostalgic night.

On Saturday, June 21, Oscar Wilde’s cult work The Importance of Being Earnest will be shown for the first time in Turkey with the National Theatre Live production. The production, brought to the stage by Max Webster, cleverly questions social roles through the relationship, based on lies, of two gentlemen.

The Soirée at the Museum will end on Sunday, June 22, with the film 2073. Directed by Asif Kapadia, the film addresses important issues of our time such as the climate crisis, surveillance technologies, and global inequalities, by combining documentary footage with fictional scenes. The film is a warning about the future while inviting the audience to question the present.

Tickets for the Museum Soiree 2025, which will bring the audience together in the Bosphorus atmosphere with different narratives for six nights, can be purchased from the SSM’s website and Biletinial platform.
