The "Sustainability in Finance" workshop, organized for the first time this year by Doruk Günaydın and Erem Ateşağaoğlu from the Finance Group of Sabancı Business School, brought together academics, researchers, and industry leaders to deeply address sustainability, finance, and governance issues. The workshop provided a platform where important discussions were held on critical topics such as ESG factors, climate risk pricing, and the impact of green transitions on businesses.
In her opening speech, Ayşegül Toker, Dean of Sabancı Business School, emphasized the importance of academic research and collaboration in solving global problems and said: "We believe in the power of academic research to address global challenges. The intersection of sustainability, finance, and corporate governance is a critical area where research can have a major impact."
The workshop hosted world-renowned academics in this field. Henri Servaes from London Business School, Grigory Vilkov from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Philipp Krueger from the University of Geneva, and Ata Can Bertay from Sabancı University shared their important findings on green economy and sustainable finance practices.
This workshop once again demonstrated the importance of integrating sustainability in finance, and was an event where comprehensive research on sustainability and green transition in finance were discussed throughout the day and ideas were shared in a lively manner.
