The second Work in Progress event organized by Sabancı University IEEE Student Branch with the theme of Nexus was held on Sunday, October 13 at Sabancı Performing Arts Center.
The event started with the opening speech of Sabancı University Vice President Cem Güneri, and the President of the Union of Turkish Municipalities and Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu, who participated in the session entitled “Smart and Sustainable Urbanism”, shared his experiences with the participants. Tuzla Mayor Eren Ali Bingöl, Sabancı University Secretary General Ali Çalışkan, and Student Resources Manager Elçin Karana Sürücü were among the guests in this session.
In other sessions of the summit, executives from leading companies also shared their experiences with the participants. Some of the people hosted in the sessions were as follows: Akbank Payment Systems Customer Acquisition Manager Ömer Arıcan, Techcareer Community Leader Enes Evkuran, OpenAI Research and Development Engineer Sercan Karakaş, Eczacıbaşı Vitra Production Planning and Control Manager Gülsemin Çimen, Şişecam Technology Manager Göker Gözetlik, and GNC Makine CEO Gökhan Çetinkaya.
The participants, who enjoyed the opportunities and gifts offered by the companies in the foyer area during the session breaks, had the opportunity to have an enjoyable time in addition to the productive sessions.
