Results of TÜBİTAK’s 1512 Individual Young Entrepreneurship (BiGG) Program for the 2021/1 period have been announced. 10 enterprises within the BiGG4Tech project led by Sabancı University Inovent have been entitled to a grant support of up to 200 thousand TL.
Being an official partner selected by TÜBİTAK to collect first phase applications to the 1512 BİGG Program, BİGG4Tech was designed "to support entrepreneurs with innovation-oriented technology ideas with different mechanisms based on lean enterprise and market development methodologies, and accompany them on their journey to commercialize their enterprise with a business plan prepared after their business idea is verified from a technical and marketing perspective".
The BiGG4tech consortium, formed in partnership with Çukurova Teknokent, Namık Kemal University Teknopark, and Bursa Uludağ University Technology Transfer Office under the leadership of Sabancı University Inovent, completed applications for the 2021/1 period on July 23, 2021.
1789 entrepreneurs have been supported so far within the framework of the BİGG program, initiated by TÜBİTAK in 2012. Within the framework of the first call of the year 2021, 63 implementing parties provided accelerator services to entrepreneurs including training, mentoring, incubation, use of collaboration networks and customer verification support. In the second phase of the program, entrepreneurs are provided with a capital support of up to 200 thousand TL once they establish their companies.
Business plans of 305 entrepreneurs approved by the implementing parties were evaluated in the 2nd phase panels organized by TÜBİTAK. As a result of the panel evaluations carried out by academics, industrialists and investors, it was decided to provide 2nd phase support to 132 within the framework of the first call of 2021.
Entitled to receive support, these enterprises will establish their companies officially, and sign an agreement with TÜBİTAK, and start to work to realize their business plans on February 1, 2022.
