Carbon Border Adjustment in 2030 for Turkish Exporters

It can be seen that the effects of the climate change and the new trends in the global trade system have started to shape the developments in the world economy. The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, which is one of the proposed regulations of the European Union in this context, is expected to have an impact on the world trade including Turkey’s trade with the EU.

The mechanism will, at first stage, cover iron and steel, cement, fertilizer, aluminum and electricity sectors in Turkey.
