FENS PhD student Seçil Erbil's (Gözüaçık Lab) article that was published on August the 3rd in the prestigious "The Journal of Biological Chemistry reached 550 reads in only 2 months. The team received a special congratulation letter from the Editor-in-Chief Prof. Lila M. Gierasch ( University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA).

As a ritual of Sabanci University, Visual Arts and Visual Communication design students, taking VA 204 Language of Drawing II, VA 324 Advanced Drawing, VA 502G and VA 399, are exhibiting their works on FASS. In these two important courses given by Wieslaw Zaremba, students use both modern and traditional techniques. 

The billion-Euro FET Flagship Project completed its 30-month first phase and entered the Horizon 2020 phase. Sabancı University is the only Turkish partner in this groundbreaking scientific project. 

The 30-month first stage of the Graphene Project, an EU 7th Framework Program project in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) endorsed by the Commission of Europe as its first 10-year, 1 billion-Euro FET Flagship Project, was completed on March 31, 2016.

Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics Engineering Programs of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences have been accredited by MÜDEK as of 1 May 2016. MÜDEK (Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs) is the only authorized association in Turkey for accreditation of engineering undergraduate programs.

Our Economics Master’s Graduate Murat Şeker is inducted to Deputy Director-General of Finance Department of Turkish Airlines (THY).

Who is Murat Şeker?

Murat Şeker graduated from Marmara University Department of Industrial Engineering in 2000 . Şeker got his master’s degree in Economics from Sabancı University in 2002 and his doctorates degree in Economics from  Minnesota University in the United States of America in 2008.

Initiatives and entrepreneurs supported by SUCool, the pre-incubation center of Sabancı University Entrepreneurship Committee, continue to deliver success. Indoora, an idea supported by SUCool, became one of top 11 companies chosen to the Startupbootcamp Smart Transportation & Energy, which is listed among top 10 global accelerators. Founded in October 2013, Indoora provides indoor navigation systems through mobile devices.

A panel themed “Neoliberal globalization and populist trends: Turkey in global context” by the Istanbul Policy Center (IPC), Sabancı University and Stiftung Mercator Initiative was held last week, with lecturers including Mercator-IPC Senior Researcher Çağlar Keyder and IPC Director Fuat Keyman.

Sabancı University ranked first in the “Turkey's Favorite Universities” survey conducted every year by Bloomberg Businessweek in cooperation with Realta Consulting. The strength of Sabancı University is “Lectures and Educational System” say the voters.

This 3rd “Favorite Universities” survey was conducted between November-March 2016, with participation of 14,330 students from 80 universities.

Sabancı University Executive MBA students went to Boston for “leadership” and “entrepreneurship” training and visited Boston One Campus, one of the five R&D centers of Schneider Electric located at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Having a chance to talk with Schneider Electric executives, EMBA students learned more about Schneider Electric.
