Arda Özdemir, a senior student in the Department of Electronics Engineering at Sabancı University’s Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) PhD program. Özdemir told GazeteSU about his MIT journey.

Sabancı University EFSUN Research Center hosted an important event that shed light on the future of energy storage technologies. The student workshop entitled “Alternatives to Lithium-Ion Batteries for Electric Vehicles” was moderated by Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member and EFSUN Director Emre Erdem.

The project entitled “Communication and Networking for Terahertz Band Space-Air-Ground Integrated Networks” by Özgür Gürbüz, member of Sabancı University’s Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, has been granted support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2566 - Bilateral Cooperation Program with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

The launch of the “Digital Transformation Journey”, which includes Data Governance, Portfolio & Project Management, Process Simplification & Digitalization, Demand and Product Management, and Digital Cultural Transformation, which was implemented with the aim of building the future together as Sabancı University, took place on January 8.

The traditional CIP Farewell Event was held at Sabancı University SUCool on May 29, 2025. During the event, we celebrated the graduation of our supervisors—who guided students and helped implement the projects within the Civic Involvement Projects (CIP 101) course throughout the academic year—and our consultants, who mentored the supervisors and supported the entire team with their valuable experience.

Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences students Cansu Topaloğlu and Yağmur Tomruk won first place in the Sustainable and Environmental Technology category of the Turkcell Technology Leaders of Tomorrow competition, with their graduation project.

The Mid-Term Conference of the “Specify and Protect the EU Social Contract (EXPRESS2)” project, which is carried out within the scope of the EU Horizon Europe program and of which Sabancı University is among the partners, was organized by SU Gender and hosted by Sabancı University at Minerva Han Karaköy on May 28–29 under the title of Crafting a New EU Social Contract Together.

Sabancı University Gender and Women's Studies Center of Excellence (SU Gender) has published the call for the 3rd International Gender Studies in Turkey Conference, which will be held on December 6–7, 2025.
