Our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Kaya Yapıcı has been elected as a Member of the Advisory Board of TÜBİTAK Electrical, Electronics and Informatics Research Support Group.

The Teaming for Excellence- Information and Experience Sharing Event will be organized under the TeamNANO project led by SUNUM. The event, conducted in collaboration with TÜBİTAK National Coordination Office, Sabancı University, EEN Istanbul, and SUNUM, will take place on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, between 9.30 AM and 1.00 PM at SUNUM. The event will be held in Turkish.

Sabancı University held the 2nd Sustainability Transformation Meeting on December 18th with the theme of “How Can We Achieve Integrated Sustainability?”.

  Winners of the TÜBİTAK Science, Special, Service, and Incentive Awards and TÜBA-GEBİP Awards have been announced. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented the awards to the scientists at the ceremony where four faculty members and researchers from Sabancı University were found deserving of the awards.

The sixth seminar of Sabancı University's Data Science and Analytics seminar series was held on December 11. The guest of the seminar was Ipsos AI Director Arda Özkan, who shared his views on how artificial intelligence (AI) and data science can be used for smarter decision-making processes across sectors.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Prof. Dr. Banu Onaral, a former member of the Board of Trustees of our university, who participated in and contributed to the Search Conference during the establishment of Sabancı University.

SU Gender organized the second International Gender Studies Conference in Turkey  on December 7-8 at Minerva Han. In the conference, attended by many academics, researchers, and civil society representatives from Turkey and abroad, 58 papers were presented in panels addressing politics, subjectivity and resistance, migration, literature, art, sexuality, innovative research approaches, psychology, health, family, violence, and many other topics. The total number of participants in the conference, which included 14 sessions and 5 workshops, was over 350.

The “From Farm to Table: Food, Culture, and Politics Talks” series, organized by Sabancı University Istanbul Policy Center, continues. The seventh talk of the series, which will take place on December 17 at IPC Karaköy, will feature Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member, Prof. Dr. İsmail Çakmak, one of the most important figures in the world in the field of agricultural engineering and plant nutrition.

The results of the annual “Teaching Awards Survey” have been announced. The awards, determined by the votes of university students, are given in 7 different categories to honor the University's successful academicians and teaching assistants in education. The awards will be presented in the Teaching Awards Ceremony at the New Year Event  to be held at SGM on December 26th.

Prof.  Şefik Süzer, from Bilkent University, will be the guest at the Nano Open Webinar on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 between 11.00-12.00 at Zoom.
