Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) will host a book talk with Renata Salecl, a leading figure in contemporary critical theory, to mark the Turkish publication of her book Yerinde Saymak: Neoliberalizmin Rehin Öznesi (Running on the Spot – The Subject as a Hostage of Neoliberalism).

The “European Union’s Quest for a Relational Open Strategic Autonomy (QUEST)” project, co-authored by Senem Aydın Düzgit, Director of the Istanbul Policy Center (IPC), and Meltem Müftüler-Baç, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at Sabancı University, has achieved significant success under the European Union’s Horizon Europe Program.

The IPC 2025 Activity Report, which presents an overview of programmes, projects, events, and publications conducted across IPC’s six research clusters in 2025, has been published.

The 24th Traditional Antalya Education Symposium was held in Antalya this year with a large number of participants under the theme "Education 5.0". Organized by the Turkish Private Schools Association (TÖZOK) with the theme "Education 5.0", the symposium brought together private school administrators, teachers, academics, and various stakeholders of the education sector on the same platform.

The 'Discover Yourself' Project, supported by the Sabancı Foundation, was carried out at Van Hacı Ömer Sabancı Primary School between January 19-23 with the participation of 11 volunteer students from Sabancı University.

Professor Dr. Yusuf Menceloğlu, who tries to bring his inventions born in the laboratory to life with a commercial reflex, has now incorporated 6 of his ventures. Speaking about entrepreneurship, Dr. Menceloğlu says, "Entrepreneurship is an addiction for me. Sabancı University prefers not only academics with research and teaching experience, but also doctoral-level academics with experience outside the university. Therefore, I found an environment here where I could satisfy both my research curiosity and my entrepreneurial excitement. Sabancı is one of the very few universities that can offer such an ecosystem on an international scale."

Sabancı University Board of Trustees has appointed Prof. Mehmet Baç as an Emeritus Faculty Member as of February 1, 2026 upon his retirement from our University.

According to the QS Europe University Rankings 2026 results published by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), Sabancı University rose to 148th place among 958 universities. Marking a remarkable 40-place increase compared to last year, Sabancı University significantly strengthened its position among European universities and further enhanced its international visibility.

SUCool Connect 2026, which brings together Sabancı University's entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, was held with strong participation on the Altunizade Campus. The event aimed to create a common perspective and interaction space for 2026 by uniting investment, entrepreneurship, academia, and community components on the same platform.
