SU Gender Saturday Talks continue. Ezgi Güler and Tuğçe Kaban will talk about ‘‘Body, Labor and Life: Changing Dimensions of Sex Work’’ at the event to be moderated by Sabancı University Faculty Member Cenk Özbay. Our event will start at 16:00 on Saturday, February 1st at Minerva Han in Karaköy.

Our student and national athlete Mehmet Kani Polat made us proud again by becoming the Turkish Champion at the Senior Turkish Taekwondo Championship held in Ankara between January 08 and 12.

Assoc. Prof. Açelya Yılmazer Aktuna, from Ankara University, will be the guest at the Nano Open Webinar on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 between 11.00-12.00 at Zoom.

The Education Reform Initiative is launching a new project focusing on green transformation and resilience in education in order to contribute to a sustainable future. The project, which will be carried out with the support of the British Council, in collaboration with the Institute for Social Innovation and Impact at the University of Northampton and Lancaster University, will continue for 18 months.

Dr. Ayşe Aldemir, Head of the Arts of the Book and Calligraphy Collection at Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum, has authored an article titled “Ottoman Tastemaker Robert-Sadia Pardo and a Sixteenth-Century Prayer Rug in The Met.” This scholarly work has been honored with inclusion in the 2024 edition of the MET Journal, the esteemed annual publication of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

2024-2025 Academic Year Spring Term Special Student Applications

Sabancı University Theater Club (SUO) has been awarded a grant of 100,000 TL from the Ministry of Youth and Sports for a “Children's Play Project” for students in the earthquake zone under the University Communities and Cooperation Support Program.

The application deadline for the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards, which are organized according to the will of Sabancı University Chair President Sakıp Sabancı, has been extended. Applications for the award program, whose 2025 theme is “Realigning Values in a Transforming World Order: What Needs Preserving, Reevaluating, and Redefining?”, can be made by February 17, 2025.

The guest of the Dean’s Speaker Series seminars organized by Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences was Prof. Emine Yılmaz, who conducts studies in the field of artificial intelligence at University College London.
